Affordable Housing Survey

The Thrussington Parish Plan published in July 2007 identified a desire for the provision of Affordable Housing in the village.

As a result, the Parish Council invited various agencies to speak to them on the subject and leaflets are now being produced which will be delivered to every house in the village in early September, telling people about the scheme and inviting them to complete and return a questionnaire about their housing needs. The questionnaires will be delivered in October, for completion and return by the end of that month to the Leicestershire & Rutland Housing Enabler. The completed questionnaires will be entirely confidential and will not be seen by the Parish Council. The Council will, however, receive the overall results of the survey.

It is hoped that as many households as possible will complete the questionnaire, so that an accurate picture of the need for affordable housing in the village can be ascertained.

If there are people, currently living outside the village, who would like/need to live in the village and require affordable housing, please let the Parish Council know so that they can be sent a questionnaire.

Update, October 2008

The Affordable Housing Survey has been distributed to each household in the village and replies are requested by the end of October 2008. All completed questionnaires are sent straight to the Rural Housing Enabler(RHE), not to the Parish Council, so are completely confidential. The RHE will report on the results of the survey to the Parish Council at their meeting on 18 November. All parishioners have been urged to complete the survey, even if they themselves do not have a housing need, as this is the village's ONE CHANCE to find out if affordable houses are required.
